• Mrs. Allison Siff, Executive Director

Mrs. Siff graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music Education. Her family came to YMV in 2010 and she served as the Music Assistant for five years before becoming the Executive Director in 2017.  Mrs. Siff grew up playing the violin and singing in choirs in school and church as well as regional and state events for choir and orchestra. She taught orchestra in public school in Kentucky and was a section violinist in the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra. She has performed in several orchestras in the Southeast (Greenville Symphony, SC, Annapolis Symphony, MD, San Angelo Symphony, TX, South Carolina Philharmonic, Columbia, SC) and taught private lessons, as well as serving as church choir director and children’s choir director. She currently plays violin in her church orchestra and is a regular adjudicator for state-level music competitions for Old Dominion Assoc. of Church Schools. All four of her children have graduated from YMV and have gone on to college. She is delighted to facilitate music education for students in a Christ-centered environment. She loves walking the halls of YMV and hearing music everywhere!

• Dr. Chris Card, Music Director

Dr. Christopher (Chris) Card has 30 plus years of experience teaching music education at all levels. He has taught as a Professor of Music Education and Director of Bands at West Virginia State University, Glennville State College, as well as Tidewater Community College. He has taught all brass instruments and directed bands at all levels including beginners to the most advanced collegiate players. Dr. Card was a former public school band director at Albemarle High School in Charlottesville, VA where his bands received nothing less than superior and excellent ratings at contests and festivals throughout the east coast.  Dr. Card is an active member of NAfME and VBODA, and supports music and music education throughout the Tidewater area and beyond. Dr. Card holds degrees in Music Ed. from James Madison University, the University of Illinois – Champaign/Urbanna, and a Ph.D. in Higher Ed. from Old Dominion U. He was the Advanced Band Director and Jazz Band Director at YMV for 17 years and now holds the position of Music Director and Brass Teacher. He has been married to his wife, Robyn D. Card, for 36 years.
