Young Musicians of Virginia typically begins classes after Labor Day, has four eight-week quarters, and finishes the enrichment year by the end of May.  Our Yearly Calendar 2023-24 highlights key dates for quarter-term ending dates, holidays and more.

YMV classes meet on Tuesdays and Fridays.  Most large ensemble classes (band, strings, choir) meet on both days, as well as high school academic classes and drama.  Art classes and private lessons meet once a week.  Other classes vary, so check the Daily Schedule link below for details.

YMV Daily Schedule 2023-24 contains daily class offerings by hour on Tuesdays and/or Fridays for the offered courses.  Private lessons are scheduled individually based on each teacher’s availability.

YMV Information Booklet 2022-23 contains descriptions of all the course offerings for the enrichment year, with suggested age/ability levels and prerequisites. (NOTE: if you have a question about whether your child meets the limits for a class, ASK! There may be more flexibility than indicated in the booklet.)

Music & Fine Arts Courses: Supplies and Fees 2022-23 and Academic Courses: Books and Fees 2022-23 shows the monthly course fees, annual usage fee, and books required for each course. You can download and print a Schedule Planning Worksheet to plot your schedule for multiple children.
